-Proverbs 22:6
Youth Sunday School
Nursery Class
The nursey class is for preschool children until they reach Kindergarten. Our room has colorful wall décor and lots of toys to keep the room fun. We use “RoseKidz” Top 50 Bible Stories about Jesus” for our material. It comprises the top stories from Jesus Birth and Childhood, Life and Ministry, and Last Days, Death and Resurrection. We typically start each week with a small snack and talk about all the fun things we did during the week at school, home, or daycare. Each child gets the opportunity to share. We then go through the lesson and try to get through as many of the activities and coloring pages as we can. We finish with “ringing the bell” and a brief period of play time. This class is taught by Barb Oerly.
Early Elementary Class
This class welcomes students in kindergarten, first, and second grade. We explore Bible stories that teach lessons of kindness, giving, and prayer as well as who God and Jesus are. We read the stories, pray, complete activities, and create crafts. This class is taught by Christy Heimericks and Elaine Ernst.
Upper Elementary Class
Third, fourth, and fifth grades students are welcome in this class. Using the Bible as our curriculum, we gather to learn about and discuss biblical topics and how they relate to our lives. We study the Old and New Testament books, The Lord’s Prayer, and the Apostles Creed. This class is taught by Lisa Rohrbach
Middle School Class
Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students make up the Middle School Class. We use the book Route 66: Travel through the Bible as our curriculum. It takes our class three years to complete the book and therefor the entire Bible. At the end of the three years, each student should have read out of each book of the Bible and have an introductory understanding of each book. This class is taught by Sara Rohrbach
Wednesday With Jesus Devotions (Grades K-5th)
“But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, ‘Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.'”
– Mark 10:14
Wednesday With Jesus Devotions, or WWJD as our church calls it, takes place each Wednesday morning from 6:30 to 7:45 AM during September to April. All Jamestown children in grades kindergarten through fifth are welcome. The children play games, enjoy a hot breakfast, learn Bible verses, read the books of the Bible, sing songs, and listen to a lesson. We end the morning worship by walking the children to school.
